Charles "Chuck" Mayfield joined USC in January 2023 as a director in the USC Office of Gift Planning. A development officer in higher education since 2015, he has spent his entire fundraising career at public and private universities, including UC Irvine (director of planned giving), UCLA (director of parent giving), Northwestern University (director of gift planning) and Cal State Polytechnic University Humboldt (philanthropy advisor).
Prior to his career in higher education development, Chuck served as an attorney in private practice, a private math tutor, a middle school math teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, and a commercial salesperson for a Fortune 100 technology company.
Chuck earned a BA in math and economics from Fisk University, a JD from Vanderbilt University, and an MPA in nonprofit management from Cal State Northridge.
